Uniprint – a world class empowerment supplier – is a technology and market leader in the supply of products and services designed to develop brands and to communicate our customers’ messages to their consumer mass markets.
The origins of Uniprint began when Virjee Mehta arrived in South Africa from India in 1914, and Mahatma Gandhi employed him as a compositor on his newspaper, Indian Opinion. Twelve years later, in 1926, Virjee left to establish Universal Printing Works where he was later succeeded by his sons. The business continued as a dynamically growing and successful family concern until, as Uniprint, it was acquired by the company now known as the Times Media Group.
Today The Group designs, manufactures and distributes a diverse range of print products and services to blue-chip customers and institutions that typically have mass markets or branch networks throughout Africa. These products include cartons, self-adhesive and unsupported labels and a wide range of transactional forms including security, gaming and election ballots. We provide fulfilment and supply chain management and outsourcing services to retailers, FMCG manufacturers, telecommunications companies and financial institutions.
